CP-PIC
The Ministry of Urban Development has established, the Communal Policy – Public Information Centre (CP-PIC). The Centre is located at the Ministry of Urban Development (Housing and Communal Policy Division). The CP-PIC aims to act as a catalyst for promoting sustainable solid waste management which is stable over time, and which is beneficial to the society, the economy and the environment.
The Centre aims to encourage the transfer of information and training to all Municipalities. Thereby supporting the in August 2003, by the Government of Armenia adopted Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) of which a main priority in the PRSP is the improvement of the effectiveness and transparency of governing structures.
The Ministry of Urban Development through the installation of the CP-PIC acknowledged that a healthy waste management provides the following economic, social and environmental benefits:

Providing of income-generating activity for a large number of people, many of whom would otherwise be indigent or require financial support from the government;

Supporting communities and providing family and neighbourhood cohesion;

Improvement health and safety conditions when informal activities are recognized and supported;

Conservation of resources when materials are recovered;

Reduction in environmental damage from exploiting primary resources;

Reduction in use of water in primary production;
The objective of the Communal Policy – Public Information Centre (CP-PIC) is to contribute to sustainable waste management, efficient in terms of:

and social acceptance.
